4 Days Circle YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta is one of the last intact Javanese Empire in Indonesia, with the Sultanate still hold jurisdiction. The Sultan's Palace is the hub of Yogyakarta's traditional life and, despite the advance of modernity, still emanates the spirit of refinement, which has been the hallmark of Yogya's culture for centuries. Yogya is center of Javanese arts and culture, as well as a historically rich and important city.

DAY 01: AIRPORT/HOTEL – BOROBUDUR – DIENG – WONOSOBO
Morning pick-up at Adi Sucipto Airport or your hotel in Jogja, then road to Wonosobo. En route stops Borobudur temple, the greatest of all Indonesia’s monuments, around 1’200 years old, this is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, then the nearby smaller Mendut and Pawon temples. Arrive in Wonosobo, continue drive up to Dieng plateau, passing rich agriculture area and spectacular views. Take a visit to the Java’s oldest temples built between 7th and 9th century, which were dedicated to Siva, the Hindu God of destruction. Then Kawah Sikidang to observe volcanic activity from sulfur craters springs. Return to Wonosobo, overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: WONOSOBO – AMBARAWA – TUNTANG – SOLO
After breakfast at hotel, continue the trip to Solo, via Temanggung, offers beautiful panorama over Mt. Sumbing and Mt. Sindoro. En route stops at Ambarawa to visit the Steam Locomotive Museum as the home of antique locomotive from various types and ages. Proceed to Tuntang Plantations for its rubber, coffee and clove plantations, where you could try to make incisions in a rubber tree to obtain sap, then see the process of natural rubber, from latex to rubber sheet. Late afternoon, arrive in Solo, direct to hotel for your accommodation.

DAY 03: SUKUH EXCURSION
Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit to Mangkunegaran Palace, then drive through lovely countryside with terraced paddy fields to reach Sukuh village to visit the erotic temple, built in the shape of stepped pyramid with its “wayang” figure stone carving. Return to Solo with stop at Bekonang village to see the process of Gamelan making (traditional instrument of Javanese orchestra). Before drive to hotel, take a visit to Triwindu flea market. Overnight.

DAY 04: SOLO – PRAMBANAN – RATU BOKO – JOGJA
After breakfast at hotel, free at leisure until time to depart to Jogja. En route stop at the most impressive Prambanan temple, where restoration project has corrected centuries of neglect, and today the privileged visitor can once more experience the glorious symmetry, grace and wealth of sculptural detail. Continue to the ruins of the late 9th century Kraton Ratu Boko occupy a superb position on a plateau 200m above the Prambanan, in an area of over 15ha. From this elevation, you could enjoy the sun beautifully goes down with Prambanan temple as the foreground (if weather permitted). Proceed to Jogja, on arrival, direct to your chosen hotel (not included in the price).
